Mind's a mess. Life has been a mess. But still trying to live my life in the most beautiful way I can think of.

Documenting seems like a great idea. So I'll try to blog more. Hopefully with pictures.

Topshop

Hi there!

It's been awhile since I blogged & I'm in Singapore right now. On a side note, Singapore's General Elections are coming up and it will be my first time voting! Am still considering...

Anyway, this blog post is mainly to review a few makeup products from Topshop which I bought about a week ago.

The first product is the Skin Tint in Fair. Fair is the lightest shade in the Skin Tint range which comprises of four shades in total. Skin Tint is a light coverage, dewy finish liquid foundation. It doesn't contain any SPF and as the coverage is light, it doesn't cover pores nor blemishes/spots/redness. However, it leaves a dewy finish as promised. I do not have good skin(that is free of any spots and even toned), therefore I felt that dewy finish didn't work for me because I looked like I had nothing on my face after applying it except shine.
Box(l), Bottle(r) - S$23
bottle with cap removed, comes in a pump nozzle
consistency

I also purchased the Cream Blush in Nutmeg, which looked like this:
I think the price was S$13
Comes in a compact with mirror. Although it doesn't show in the picture, the top of the lid is polka dotted.

This is how it looks like when smeared.
This cream blush can be applied with fingers and it is super creamy. Unless you apply a lot, the colour doesn't really show much after you have blended into your skin. The quality is okay for the price. I think I just need some time getting used to cream blushes as I've always been using powder ones.

Another make-up product I got from Topshop was the Waterproof Mascara in Raven(black). This mascara was used in most of the Topshop makeup tutorials you can find here and here
Cute packaging - S$19
Box(l), Mascara(r)
This is one of the most difficult mascaras to remove out of all that I've ever used. I have straight eyelashes which droop a little if I don't curl them. I've tried some mascaras which weighed down my curled eyelashes, causing them to become straight again. The above mascara does a pretty good job at holding the curls in my eyelashes for the entire day I was out. BUT! It was really an ordeal removing it. I had to go over my eyes with the eye makeup remover on the cotton pad several times and the mascara just seemed determined to stick to my lashes. That is a big con for me.

I also bought two nail polishes, as follows:
Cloud - S$13. I like the polka dots!

It resembles the clouds when it's going to rain and took me about two coats to get a opaque grey colour on my nails. I like the colour! The next nail polish I bought was a black colour.

Cloak and Dagger - S$13
I find that these two nail polishes don't chip easily especially if you apply a top coat.

*Above images are all from the Topshop website.

Since I didn't like the mascara I got, I wanted to share with you a mascara which works for me.

FAIRY DROPS!!!

If you check out their website, you will find that they have other products besides mascara and they have a couple of different mascaras. However, (as far as I know) there is only one kind of Fairy Drops mascara available in Singapore's Watsons. I already threw away my latest one because it was over three months but the packaging of the mascara is most similar to the one in the image above. The bottle of the mascara available in Singapore mostly comprises of the colour pink and is not packaged in a box as fanciful as the one above. I believe just a simple pink cardboard background. You should be able to find it under the Japanese products section at most Watsons. This mascara may smudge a little on your lower eyelids if you have oily skin or if you sneeze and squeeze your eyes. Besides that, this is actually an awesome mascara. It gives my eyelashes volume and length. It defines them and holds my curled lashes really well. It is not a bitch to remove at the end of the day. And, it is reasonably priced. I have finished my second bottle and am going to purchase my third one. I absolutely adore it! <3<3

So, if you have poker straight, stubborn droopy lashes like me, and you haven't found a mascara that works for you and is reasonably priced, I suggest you give this one a go. Don't neglect to curl your lashes properly before applying mascara. I hope this will work for you! ;)

Sweet 17

No, I'm totally over 10's. I meant that I'm heading back to my wonderful home country on 17th this month! Hip Hip Hooray!

People to meet up with, things to buy. Can't wait to eat the food I miss so much as well! :9 Such as Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken Restaurant at Takashimaya. I really recommend the BBQ, ginseng chicken soup and kimchi pancake there! Sushi! I'm definitely going to have salmon sashimi, california handroll, cha soba, chawanmushi, unagi sushi, and tempura... *drools* I also miss seafood pad thai, tom yum seafood soup and beef stick noodles soup from Thai Express. And last but not least, from the kopitiam near where I stay, is the best lor mee/bee hoon and chicken rice! Yummmmmmmyyyyy!! :D

Are you hungry after reading this? :P

Nice Scenery

There's a beautiful sunset view from the restaurant. A combination of orange and yellow natural light streaming in through the glass at the front door and windows. Surprised me as I raised my sight from the computer at the counter to the phenomenon taking place outside, creating a calm and blissful atmosphere.

Take a little time out of your hectic life to see something that could make your day. :)

First Finest Welcome!

Hi there!

It's my first blog post of the year on this blog. I want to mention that this year is a life-changing one for me because I've moved to Malaysia to live with my boyfriend, who just opened his first restaurant with his friends in his hometown, Sibu. Hooray to that!

Sibu is so very much different from Singapore, where I come from. The food, language, culture and lifestyle differences need some time getting used to. I miss my family, friends, my room, the shops, and the food!

Although I miss so many things from my hometown, I think moving to Sibu is a great opportunity to live my life fuller and open myself up to a new life journey.

God bless!

xoxo
